Delphi: Delphi

Day 1
Depart early in the morning and drive from Athens to Delphi. Take the road via Thebes and Levadia. Delphi is located in lower central Greece, between several terraces along the slopes of the beautiful Mount Parnassus (2.457 m altitude). It is the site of the Delphic oracle, which is actually the most important oracle in the classical Greek world, and the major site for the worship of god Apollo. After the arrival to your hotel, visit the Sanctuary of Apollon, the Treasury of Athenians and the museum. Overnight at the Hotel in Delphi.
Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, start driving from Athens to northwest, through Central Greece and the cities of Lamia, where a short stop may be held, and then Trikala, with direction to Kalambaka. This is the small town at the feet of the majestic Meteora Rocks, and the Byzantine monasteries on top of them. All the monasteries seem sort of perched on these high cliffs and most of them can be accessed by staircases cut into the rock. Those that can be visited are :
The Monastery of Great Meteoron
The Monastery of Varlaam
The Monastery of Roussanou
The Monastery of St. Nicholas Anapausas
The Monastery of St. Stephen
The Monastery of Holy Trinity
You may start with Aghios Stephanos (St. Stephen) monastery, as being the easiest to access, and then try as many as you can, given that to see them all in one day you would have to start early in the morning. Apart from their historic, religious and artistic value, all of them offer a rewarding magnificent view of the valley below, and the rest of the rocks.. In the afternoon start driving back to Athens. End of the program with the delivery of the car.
